MISSISSIPPI RIVER TRAIL SIGNED IN ALL 10 STATES

Feb. 4, 2005

The Mississippi River Trail will have at least one signed segment in all 10 states by the spring 2005 cycling season, according to MRT Inc. Executive Director Patrick Nunnally. Agreements have been reached with the City of St. Paul, Minnesota, and the Departments of Natural Resources in Wisconsin and Illinois to sign separate path segments at varied locations in the three states. Iowa currently has signed segments in Davenport (separate path) and in northeastern Iowa (low volume rural roads). The MRT has been signed from Hannibal Missouri south to New Orleans since 2001. More detailed information on particular segments is available on the MRT web site on state pages. For more information, call the MRT office at (479) 236-0938, or email teastin@lynks.com.
