On August 13 & 14, former Minnesota Vikings player and NFL Hall of Fame member Paul Krause hosted his 2006 Paul Krause NFL Hall or Fame Golf Classic at The Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, MN. The event included 18 Hall of Fame players, and 72 members of the public. [Mississippi River Trail, Inc., was the primary charity for the event.
“I was thrilled to hold my inaugural event at such a beautiful golf course,” said Paul Krause, who holds the all-time interception record in the NFL with 81 interceptions. “The event benefited a great charity – the MRT – as well as the Minnesota Brain Injury Foundation.”
The event began on Sunday night with a Sponsors’ Reception & Dinner with the NFL Hall of Fame Players in attendance and a silent auction. On Monday the festivities began with a Players Breakfast and Shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. All foursomes had as their fifth player a NFL Hall of Fame Player. Golfing with these legends made for some exciting shots as well as some great stories!
Some of the NFL Hall of Fame Players attending include Ted Hendricks (Chicago), Joe DeLamielleure (Buffalo & Cleveland), Tom Mack (LA Rams) Joe Maynard (NY Giants & NY Titians), Anthony Munoz (Bengals), Carl Eller (Vikings), Jan Stenerud (Chiefs. Packers, and Vikings), and the beloved Lem Barney (Detroit Lions).
